(THE BLUE MOUNTAINS, ON) Officers from the Collingwood and The Blue Mountains detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) charged a motorist with several criminal offences as a result of a traffic complaint on Highway 26.
On the 24th of March 2015 officers received a traffic complaint on Highway 26 near Thornbury. Officers located the vehicle and proceeded to conduct a vehicle stop where it was found that the driver was in possession of drugs and officers seized an undisclosed amount of cannabis marihuana, cocaine and ketamine.
Charged is 34 year-old Michael James ASKIN of Owen Sound, he is facing charges of careless driving under the Highway Traffic Act as well as possession of a controlled substance – cocaine (2 counts), possession of controlled substance – cannabis marihuana – under 30 grams and possession of a controlled substance – other drugs.
He is to appear in Owen Sound court on the 16th of April 2015.
