(LAKESHORE, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) in Lakeshore stopped a vehicle on December 7, 2015 at approximately 8:15 p.m. for driving erratically in the dense fog on Essex County Road 22 near Commercial Boulevard in Lakeshore.
Information regarding the suspended driver revealed that there was a Provincial Offences warrant for him. The driver also had open alcohol in the vehicle, the tires on his vehicle were bald and unfit for use, he had no insurance on the vehicle, the vehicle was painted a different colour than on his original permit and his permit was expired.
Michael GAUDET, age 25 of Windsor was arrested on the warrant and charged with the following additional offences:
Drive While Under Suspension x 2 contrary to the Highway Traffic Act
Improper Tires contrary to the Highway Traffic Act
Drive Motor Vehicle No Currently Validated Permit contrary to the Highway Traffic Act
Vehicle Modified—Fail to Apply for New Permit contrary to the Highway Traffic Act
Owner Operate Motor Vehicle on Highway-No Insurance contrary to the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act
Drive Motor Vehicle With Open Container of Liquor contrary to the Liquor Licence Act.
His vehicle was also impounded for 7 days.
