(KIRKLAND LAKE, ON.) – Members of the Ontario Provincial Police Kirkland Lake Crime Unit along with assistance of a North East Region Canine Unit and members of the Ontario Provincial Police Emergency Response Team have charged a man and a woman with drug offences. The charges stem from the investigation of illegal drug related activities in the Kirkland Lake area. It culminated with the execution of Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant at a residence on Woods Street in Kirkland Lake.
Seized as a result of the investigation were Methamphetamine pills, Hashish, Fentanyl, Cannabis marihuana and money. The estimated street value of the drugs seized is approximately $3,600. The incident occurred at approximately 3:05 p.m. on October 5, 2015.
Charged are Justin MATTON age 34 of Kirkland Lake with Possession of Methamphetamine for the Purpose of Trafficking, two counts of Possession of Schedule I Substance (Oxycodone/Fentanyl), Possession of Cannabis Resin, Possession of Cannabis Marihuana and Fail Comply with a Probation Order and Melissa PARENT age 31 of Kirkland Lake with Possession of Methamphetamine for the Purpose of Trafficking, two counts of Possession of Schedule I Substance (Oxycodone/Fentanyl), Possession of Cannabis Resin, Possession of Cannabis Marihuana. They were remanded into custody pending a bail hearing.
