Methamphetamine Bust In Goderich – ROBERTS & STEEPER

(GODERICH, ON) – A traffic stop in Goderich last week has resulted in several charges being laid against a driver and passenger.

On Thursday, April 9, 2020 at approximately 3:00 p.m. a Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer initiated a traffic stop of a pickup truck on Victoria Street North in Goderich. Upon checking on the licence status of the driver officers learned the driver was wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant as well he was driving with a suspended licence.

As such the driver was placed under arrest and a search of the vehicle was completed. As a result of the search police located a quantity of suspected methamphetamine, two prohibited weapons (brass knuckles) and a quantity of unmarked cigarettes.

The passenger was also arrested and both have since been charged.

Colby ROBERTS, 27 years of age from Huron East has been charged with the following offences: Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine, Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition, Possession of a Prohibited Device, Driving While Under Suspension, Operate a Motor Vehicle Without Insurance and Possess Unmarked Cigarettes. He has since been released from custody with a court date scheduled for July 27, 2020 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.

Kristen STEEPER, 27 years of age from Huron-Kinloss Township has been charged with Possession of a Schedule I Substance – Methamphetamine, Fail to Comply with Probation Order, Fail to Comply with Undertaking and Possess Unmarked Cigarettes. She has been released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for July 27, 2020 at the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich.
