(GUELPH-ERAMOSA TOWNSHIP, ON) – On July 26, 2014 at approximately 7:51 p.m. members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Traffic Management Unit (TMU) were conducting R.I.D.E. spot checks on Conservation Road 29 near Watson Road in Guelph-Eramosa Township. Officers investigated the driver of a 2000 Chevrolet Malibu that entered into the checkpoint.
Upon speaking with the driver police determined that she had been drinking. She was administered a Roadside Screening Device test which resulted in a fail.
The Administrative Drivers’ Licence Suspension (ADLS) program was initiated and her motor vehicle impounded for seven days.
Merissa GOODCHILD aged 35 of Guelph has been charged with Over 80 MGS contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. She is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on September 9, 2014 to answer to the charge.
