(KENORA, ON) Members of the Kenora Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged their first impaired driver of 2014. Shortly after midnight on Wednesday January 1, 2014 OPP officers were advised by Treaty Three Police that they had an impaired driver in custody in the City of Kenora. OPP attended and observed a 4 door automobile located on the sidewalk of Ninth St North at Eleventh Ave North. The driver was turned over to the OPP and taken to the Kenora Detachment for breath tests.
As a result of this investigation 24 year old Melissa SKEAD of Rat Portage First Nation has been charged with Impaired Driving and Driving With More than .80 mg of Alcohol in 100 ml of Blood contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. She is to appear in Kenora Court on February 6, 2014 to answer to the charge. She was also issued Provincial Offence Notices for Drive No Licence contrary to the Ontario Highway Traffic Act.
