(BLANDFORD-BLENHEIM TOWNSHIP, ON.) – On January 22, 2017, shortly after 10:00 p.m., a member of the Oxford Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop on Highway 401, near Oxford Road 29 in Blandford Blenheim Township. Further investigation resulted in approximately $6,000 in Marihuana seized.
The driver, Matthew ROSS YOUNG, 27-years-of-age of Hamilton, Ontario has been charged with the following offences:
Possession of a Schedule II Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Marihuana, contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substance Act
Driving While Under Suspension, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act
G1-Novice Licence Holder- Unaccompanied by Qualified Driver, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act
G1-Novice Licence Holder- Drive on Prohibited Highway, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act
Operate Motor Vehicle-No Insurance, contrary to the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act
The accused is scheduled to appear for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Woodstock, Ontario on January 23, 2017.
