(OTONABEE-SOUTH MONAGHAN TOWNSHIP, ON) – An investigation led by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) resulted in a traffic stop on Keene Road shortly before 10:00am yesterday.
During the stop police seized drugs, drug paraphernalia, cell phone and Canadian currency. Matthew JONES (age 44) of Otonabee-South Monaghan Township was arrested and charged with:
Possession of a Schedule I controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking (cocaine)
Possession of proceeds of crime
Fail to comply with recognizance
The accused was held in custody and will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Peterborough, Ontario later today.
