Matthew ASSINWE – Drunk Driving

(BRANT COUNTY, ON) – Members of the Brant County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) while conducting RIDE (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) on 10 July 2016 on Cockshutt Road in The County of Brant.

At approximately 2:15am police stopped a 2006 Mazda M3 after it attempted to avoid the RIDE check.

Police determined through investigation that the driver had been drinking alcohol and the male driver was arrested.

OPP investigators have charged 29-year-old Matthew ASSINWE of Tuscarora Township with the following offences contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

Driving with More than 80 mgs, of Alcohol in Blood contrary to Section 253(1)(b)

Driving While Ability Impaired, contrary to Section 253(1)(a)

He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Brantford at a later date to answer to his charges. If convicted, the offender will be subject to the Criminal Code penalties, including a fine or jail time, and a driving prohibition.
