(MIDDLESEX CENTRE, ON)- On Wednesday March 26, 2014 at 10:59 p.m. a member of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic stop on Egremont Road, in relation to a traffic related offence. Upon speaking with the driver police soon discovered that the driver had been drinking. The driver was placed under arrest at the scene and transported to the Strathroy OPP detachment for further tests.
As a result police have charged Maryanne STEELE, age 52 of Strathroy, ON with one count of Driving While Ability Impaired as per Section 253(1)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC) and Driving with More than 80 mgs. of Alcohol in Blood 253(1)(b) CC. The accused was released from police custody by way of a Promise to Appear (PTA) and is scheduled to appear in a London court room on May 1, 2014 to speak to the charges.
The drivers licence was seized and the vehicle was impounded.
