(STRATFORD, ON) On Saturday April 26, 2014, around 8:40 p.m. a Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was driving south bound on Erie Street in the south end of Stratford. The officer observed a northbound SUV on Erie Street approaching at a high rate of speed. The officer locked in the speed of the SUV on the police radar at 122 km/h in a posted 60 km/h zone. The Vehicle was pulled over by the officer on Erie St north of Lorne Ave.
The officer determined that the female driver had been drinking alcoholic beverages. A roadside breath test was administered which she failed. She was transported to the Stratford Police Station where she also failed two Intoxilyzer Breath Tests.
Martha Jane DWYER (28) of London has been charged with “driving with more than 80 mgs of alcohol in bloodâ€Â, and “racingâ€Â. She is to appear a Stratford Court of Justice on June 02, 2014 to answer to these charges. She received an automatic 90 day driver’s licence suspension and her vehicle was impounded for a week.
