(GUELPH, ON) – On November 3, 2016 at approximately 11:30 p.m., Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Officers were conducting a R.I.D.E. program on Highway 6 and College Avenue, Guelph. Police spoke with the driver of a 2008 Ford and believed that he had consumed alcohol. A roadside screening test was conducted which resulted in a fail. He was arrested and it was discovered that he was driving while disqualified and was a suspended driver. He was brought to a local OPP Operations Centre for further testing.
36-year-old Mark SANTOS of Brampton has been charged with Over 80 Mgs and Driving While Disqualified contrary to the Criminal Code. He is also charged with Driving While Suspended contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on December 2, 2016. His driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days and the vehicle impounded for a period of seven days as per statute.
