(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON) – On May 29th, 2016 at approximately 1:04 am an officer from the City of Kawartha Lakes detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was on general patrol when a golf cart was observed travelling southbound on County Road 36 in Verulam Township.
After an investigation, the driver of the golf cart, 40 year old Mark KESSLER of Verulam Township was found to have been drinking alcohol and was arrested and charged with Driving with More than 80 mg of Alcohol in 100 ml of Blood contrary to section 253 (1)(b) of the Criminal Code of Canada, Driving while ability Impaired by Alcohol contrary to section 253(1)(a) of the CCC, and Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor contrary to section 32(1) of the Liquor Licence Act.
The accused will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay on July 7th, 2016.
