(WEST PARRY SOUND, ON) – On November 13, 2013 at approximately 11:33 p.m. a driver was charged with drug offences after an officer from the West Parry Sound Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped him for speeding on Highway 69 in Carling Township.
After observing a vehicle travelling over the posted 90 km/h speed limit, the officer conducted a traffic stop. Upon contact with the driver, the officer detected an overwhelming odour of Cannabis Marijuana. The driver of the vehicle was subsequently arrested and searched. As a result of the search, an estimated street value of the seized Cannabis Marijuana is $11,415.
Mark IRONMONGER, 22 years of age from Mississauga was charged with
– Possession of a Schedule II Substance – Cannabis Marijuana – Over 30 grams, contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA)
– Possession of a Schedule II Substance for the purpose of trafficking – Under 3kg, contrary to the CDSA
– Speeding, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act
The accused was held for bail to answer to his charges.
