(CITY OF GUELPH, ON) – On September 19, 2017 at approximately 12:05 a.m., a Wellington County OPP officer was monitoring traffic on Highway 6 near Laird Road in the City of Guelph. The officer observed a male driving a 2008 Honda Civic travelling at a speed that appeared to be well above the posted speed limit. The vehicle was locked on radar at 139 km/h in an 80 km/h zone.
29-year-old Mark BRAUER of Guelph has been charged with Race a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act and will appear in Guelph Provincial Court on November 1, 2017. His driver’s licence and vehicle were seized for a period of seven days as per statute.
