(CRAMAHE TOWNSHIP, ON) – On December 26, 2014 Northumberland Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) began an investigation into the theft of scrap metal from a Colborne area business.
At about 8:30 pm on December 26, OPP were notified that gates to a local business compound were found open. Further investigation by the caller determined that scrap metal was missing from the bins within the compound. The exact value of the property stolen is still being determined.
Northumberland OPP Detachment Street Response Team (SRT) followed up the initial report information and is continuing to investigate this theft in Northumberland County.
Mario HORVATH, 19 from Toronto, Ontario was arrested on January 3, 2015 by OPP. He has been charged with the following offences under the Criminal Code:
Break and enter – commit indictable offence
Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
Theft under $5,000 – 2 counts
The accused has been released on a promise to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on Tuesday February 3, 2015 in Brighton.
