Marco CORTESE – Drunk Driving

(TOWN OF FERGUS, ON) – On August 23, 2014 at approximately 2:07 a.m. members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) observed a 2003 Suzuki travelling westbound on St. Andrews Street West near Beatty Line North in the Town of Fergus, being operated in an erratic manner.

Officers stopped the motor vehicle and upon speaking with the male driver determined that he was impaired by alcohol and he was placed under arrest. He was transported to a local Operations Centre for testing.

The Administrative Drivers’ Licence Suspension (ADLS) program was initiated and his motor vehicle impounded for seven days.

Further investigation revealed that the male was on an Officer in Charge Undertaking (OIC) which included the condition not to be in the company of a named person – who was the passenger in his vehicle when he was stopped by police.

Marco CORTESE age 23 of Gormley has been charged with Impaired Driving, Over 80 and Fail to Comply with Undertaking contrary to the Criminal Code. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on September 9, 2014 to answer to the charges.
