(COUNTY OF BRANT, ON) – The County of Brant Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), officers are investigating a motor vehicle collision involving a car and a cyclist on Highway 5 west of Harrisburg Road, in the County of Brant.
At approximately 5:20 p.m. on July 23rd, 2014, officers attended the scene of the collision on Highway 5. A male cyclist was west bound on Highway 5 and was struck by a west bound vehicle. The 70 year old male cyclist sustained serious but non-life threatening injuries and was taken to a Hamilton area hospital.
Barry PARSONS 64 years of age from the County of Brant was charged for Careless Driving, under the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario.
West Region Technical Traffic Investigators assisted the County of Brant OPP with the investigation. Highway 5 was closed for approximately 4 hours for the investigation.
