Man Found Passed Out Behind Wheel In Goderich Courthouse Square

(GODERICH, ON) – A 36-year-old from Norfolk County will be returning to Goderich for a court appearance following his arrest this past weekend. At approximately 12:15 p.m. on Friday, September 4, 2015 a concerned citizen attended the Goderich Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) detachment to report a vehicle was parked in such a manner that the rear end of the vehicle was sticking out into the travelled portion of Courthouse Square. Upon locating the Chrysler sedan parked at the corner of Courthouse Square and Hamilton Street the investigating officer located a male sleeping in the driver’s seat. The officer was able to rouse the sleeping driver and upon speaking with him the officer determined the male had been drinking alcohol. The driver was placed under arrest for Impaired Care & Control and was taken into custody. He was then transported to the Huron OPP Detachment for breath tests where he provided two samples of his breath to a qualified Intoxilizer Technician; both samples registered over the legal limit.

As a result, Ryan FRANCKE, 36 years of age from Norfolk County has been charged with Care or Control While Impaired, Care or Control Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol & Having Care and Control of a Motor Vehicle with Unsealed Container of Liquor.
