Man Charged with Multiple Driving Offences

Early this morning, an officer on general patrol observed a vehicle travelling southbound on St. Clair Street. The officer initiated a traffic stop and learned that the man was suspended from driving for unpaid fines and demerit points. The man also failed to provide proof of insurance for the vehicle. The 33-year-old Chatham man was charged with driving a motor vehicle with no validation on plate, failing to surrender an insurance card and two counts of driving while under suspension. The vehicle was towed and impounded for seven days in accordance with the Vehicle Impoundment Program.
