Man Charged with Failing to Remain at the Scene of an Accident

The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a man in connection with a motor vehicle collision.

Around 12:15 a.m. this morning, police responded to a collision at the intersection of Keil Drive and Richmond Street in Chatham.

A 28-year-old Raleigh Township man was stopped at a red light when the driver ahead of him reversed causing approximately $1000. After striking the vehicle, the driver failed to remain and fled the scene of the accident. The Raleigh Township man called police and followed the driver to a residence on Tweedsmuir Avenue East.

Shane Parker, 29 years, of Woods Street in Chatham has been charged with failing to remain at the scene of an accident. He has been released with conditions pending a future court date.
