Man Charged with Driving Offences

The Chatham-Kent police have arrested a man following a traffic stop in Chatham yesterday morning.

Around 9:20 a.m. an officer on general patrol observed a man known to him as an unlicensed driver travelling eastbound on McNaughton Avenue near Delaware Avenue in Chatham. The officer initiated a traffic stop and confirmed that the man was currently prohibited from driving in Canada.

Thomas Evans, 35 years, of McNaughton Avenue East in Chatham has been charged with driving while disqualified x3 and driving while under suspension x5. His vehicle was towed from the scene and impounded for 45 days according the Vehicle Impoundment Program. He was released pending a future court date.
