MAN CHARGED FOR IMPAIRED DRIVING

(MOOSONEE, ON) – At 3 am on March 23, 2014 members of the Moosonee Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting general patrols when they observed a vehicle being driven in an erratic manner.

Officers stopped the vehicle as it parked at a residence on Wabun Road. After a short interaction the driver was subsequently arrested for driving while impaired. The accused was transported to the Moosonee OPP Detachment where he provided breath samples.

Francis JOHNS, 36, of Moosonee, Ontario is charged with the following:

– Impaired operation of a motor vehicle

– Operate a motor vehicle with excess of 80mg of alcohol in 100mL of blood.

The accused received an automatic 90 day driver’s licence suspension and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Moosonee on the May 6, 2014.
