Man Arrested For 32 Break And Enters

On December 10, 2015 the Waterloo Regional Police arrested 37 year old Richard Wayne HADDOCK, a Kitchener resident in relation to 32 commercial Break and Enters. Richard HADDOCK has been charged with 78 criminal charges in relation to commercial break and enters. It is alleged that from October 28, 2015 to December 9, 2015 throughout Region of Waterloo Richard HADDOCK would smash windows and doors of businesses to gain access. Once inside he would target cash registers and merchandise. The businesses that were targeted were usually located in smaller plazas in the middle of the night with glass store fronts. The locations have varied all across the region including Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge, North Dumfries, and Wilmot Township. In total 32 commercial businesses were broken into causing significant loss to their owners. Several businesses had to close for short periods of time while damage was repaired. On the night of December 9, 2015 it is also alleged that Richard HADDOCK broke into six businesses in the region which include; • 3 businesses on Fairway Road, Kitchener • 2 businesses on Lexington Road, Waterloo • 1 business on Eagle Street, Cambridge The value of the property reported to be stolen is estimated at over $10,000. The estimate value of all damaged caused to the numerous businesses is over $40,000. Haddock is scheduled for court on December 21, 2015. Investigators continue to look into several similar break and enters in the Region.
