(ELGIN COUNTY, ON) Elgin County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers, Southwold Township Fire as well as the Thames EMS responded to a industrial accident which occurred today July 17th, 2015 at the Cargill Ltd. plant on Talbot Line (Hwy #3) just west of Talbotville, Southwold Township.
The incident occurred around 2:30pm when a workers arm became stuck in a piece of machinery. The worker, a 46-year-old Blenheim, ON man had to be extricated from the piece of machinery and was then airlifted to hospital. He is listed in serious condition with life threatening injuries.
The workplace is responsible for contacting the Ministry of Labour.
Police continue to investigate.
