(NEYAASHIINIGMIING FIRST NATION, ON) – On October 1, 2016 at 11:10 p.m., The Cape Croker Police Service along with the assistance of the Bruce Peninsula Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Crime Unit, Bruce County Emergency Medical Services (EMS), the OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT) and the OPP Canine Unit are investigating a serious assault that occurred on Lakeshore Boulevard, in the First Nation Territory of Neyaashiinigmiing.
A Cape Croker Police Officer was patrolling the area when he observed a male running into the bush. The officer continued to the area where he first observed the male and located a second male; who had been assaulted and was unconscious. The injured male was transported by ambulance to a local hospital and then further transported to a London Hospital. The male victim sustained serious life threatening injuries and is listed in stable condition.
