(Bancroft, Ontario) – In the early morning of Tuesday of August 26th 2014, the Bancroft detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to the report of a vehicle fire on Brethour Road in the Municipality of Hastings Highlands. Investigation revealed that the vehicle was a GMC pickup truck stolen from a residence in the Ennismore area overnight.
The same morning the Bancroft OPP also received the report of a vehicle theft from residence on Mira Street in the Municipality of Hastings Highlands. Sometime overnight a Ford pickup truck was stolen from a driveway
The Bancroft OPP has charged an adult male in relation to both these incidents.
24 year old Kyle HUNT of Bancroft, Ontario was arrested and has been charged with:
Possession of stolen property
Theft over
Arson
Possession of a schedule 1 drug
He was released from custody at a bail hearing with conditions. His next scheduled court appearance is the 28th of October 2014, at the Ontario Court of Justice in Bancroft, Ontario.
