(ONEIDA OF THE THAMES FIRST NATION, ON) – A male driver is facing numerous charges following an investigation by Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).
On February 15, 2014 at approximately 6:30 a.m. Middlesex County OPP was assisting Oneida Police with an investigation on Oneida Road in Oneida Nation of the Thames First Nation when a dark coloured vehicle approached the scene driving in a dangerous manner. The vehicle returned to the area multiple times and attempts were made to stop the vehicle however the vehicle fled from police. Police observed the suspect vehicle pulling onto a property on Pheasant Drive and the driver exited the vehicle. Officers discovered the driver had been drinking and was impaired. The driver was arrested and transported to the London OPP detachment for further testing.
As a result of the investigation police have charged Preston DOXTATOR, age 24 of Oneida Nation of the Thames First Nation with the following Criminal Code offences:
Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle
Impaired Care or Control of a Motor Vehicle
Care or Control of a Motor Vehicle – Over 80
Flight from Police
The accused was further charged with the following Provincial offences:
Drive Motor Vehicle With Open Container of Liquor
Drive Motor Vehicle – No Plate
The accused was released from police custody by way of a Promise to Appear and is scheduled to appear in a London courtroom on March 25, 2014 to speak to the charges.
