(WASAGA BEACH, ON.) – On September 6th, 2016 at approximately 7:00 p.m., members of the Huronia West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received information that a male who was suspected of being impaired was operating a marine vessel on Nottawasaga Bay.
An investigation into this crime revealed that on this vessel there was also the male’s female partner and their two children. Further Police discovered that a verbal argument escalated to where this male purposely prevented the above female from leaving the vessel.
This vessel was located docking at a location on Nottawasaga River.
As a result of a further investigation into this male Police determined that he was operating this vessel while under the influence of alcohol.
Charged with “Impaired Operation”, “Exceed 80 mgs.” and “Forcible Confinement” is a 38 year old male from Wasaga Beach. First appearance was September 7th, 2016 in Barrie Court.
