(CHATHAM-KENT, ON) On March 21, 2014, shortly after midnight, Chatham-Kent Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were conducted a Reduce Impaired Drivers Everywhere (RIDE) program at Communication Road and Colborne Street in the Municipality of Chatham-Kent.
The officers observed a vehicle turn onto a side street prior to the RIDE check location. The officers located the vehicle, and upon speaking with the driver, it was determined that the driver had been consuming alcoholic beverages. A roadside test was completed which resulted in a warn range suspension.
The 37 year old male driver from Chatham was served with a three day driver’s licence suspension.
Chatham-Kent OPP would like to remind drivers that if you plan on drinking alcohol, it’s not worth taking the risk. Plan ahead by arranging for a designated driver, take a cab or stay overnight.
