(HALIBURTON, ON) – On Saturday September 06, 2014 at approximately 7:30 pm Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment responded to a 911 call from a payphone regarding male parties at the Highlands Cinemas in Kinmount Ontario. The anonymous caller indicated that two unknown male parties were walking in the area with guns. Police searched the area and were unable to locate anyone with guns or any threats to public safety. At approximately 10:06 pm Haliburton Highlands OPP received a similar 911 call from a payphone in Minden Ontario regarding a male with a gun at the Dominion Hotel. Police responded to the area and as in the previous incident were unable to locate anyone with guns or any threats to public safety. Shortly afterwards OPP officers were able to locate and arrest the male responsible for these and numerous other similar incidents dating back to August 2013 in both Haliburton County and City of Kawartha Lakes.
As a result Joshua KIMBLE age 34 of Minden Hills Ontario has been charged with the following criminal offences:
Public Mischief – 11 counts
Uttering Threats – 1 count
KIMBLE was held for a bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay Ontario on September 08, 2014.
