(CALEDON, ON) – On July 15th, 2014 at approximately 12:09 am, an officer from the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) observed a motor vehicle northbound on Centreville Creek Road near Healey Road. The officer was travelling behind the Honda Accord and observed the vehicle cross the centre line four times. The officer initiated a vehicle stop at the intersection of Centreville Creek Road and King Road to check on the driver’s sobriety. The officer immediately detected a strong odour, believed to be marijuana, from inside the vehicle. The driver was arrested and a search of the vehicle uncovered a quantity of a green leafy substance suspected to be marijuana.
As a result of the traffic stop, Dilpreet SEKHON, 18, from Brampton was arrested and charged with one Possession of a Schedule II substance.
The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville on August 18th, 2014 to answer to the charge.
