Male Arrested Driving Stolen Truck in Milton

At 8:52am on July 28th, 2016, Halton Regional Police received information from a member of the public that a stolen Freightliner truck was being driven in the area of Highway 401 and Steeles Avenue in Milton.

Officers attended the area and located the truck. Initial attempts to stop the much larger vehicle failed. Officers strategically followed the vehicle which continued south on Winston Churchill Boulevard in Milton. Fortunately, the vehicle was forced to stop behind other large trucks in heavy traffic.

Seizing this opportunity, Officers quickly arrested the driver, who was the lone occupant, without incident. A search incident to arrest revealed drugs and numerous tools specifically designed for the purposes of stealing motor vehicles.

The driver, Michael Lambkin 42 years of Mississauga, was charged with the following criminal offences:

Possession of stolen property over $5000

Flight while being pursued by Police

Possession of break in instruments

Possession of automobile master key

Possession of a controlled substance

Mr. Lambkin is also charged with contravening the Ontario Highway Traffic Act by driving while under suspension.

Mr. Lambkin was subsequently held for bail.
