(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON) – An Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was conducting traffic enforcement in the City of Kawartha Lakes on September 27, 2015 when a vehicle was stopped for a Highway Traffic Act (HTA) infraction.
The officer was concluding the investigation when they were assaulted by the driver. The driver was arrested, without incident and charged with Assaulting a Peace Officer contrary to Section 270(1)(a) of the Criminal Code. The officer did not sustain any injuries. Charged is 27 year old Lucas SISSON, of the City of Kawartha Lakes.
The accused will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on October 8, 2015.
