Elgin County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Property Crimes Unit have arrested and charged a 62 year old London, ON man with numerous property related offences after a three month investigation into several thefts around Elgin County.
The investigation stems from the recovery of a stolen 18 foot enclosed utility trailer which contained several pieces of farm machinery equipment. The trailer was recovered from a property on College Line, Malahide Township on July 17th, 2014.
OPP Property Crimes Unit subsequently conducted several search warrants on properties in both Elgin County and Strathroy Caradoc Township.
As a result police recovered the following items;
18ft enclosed Utility trailer.
14 Enclosed Utility trailer.
Two (2) skid steers.
12 Gauge Shotgun.
Miscellaneous small items.
Police estimate the value of the property recovered to be approximately $90 000.
On September 19th, 2014 police arrested and charged Mohammad IBRAHIM age 62 of London ON without incident. He has been charged with;
Four (4) Counts of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000 contrary to the Criminal Code.
Four (4) Counts of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000 contrary to the Criminal Code.
Break and Enter contrary to the Criminal Code.
Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm contrary to the Criminal Code.
IBRAHIM has since been released on an appearance notice and is scheduled to appear in St.Thomas Criminal Court on October 28th, 2014.
