(GUELPH-ERAMOSA TOWNSHIP, ON.) -On November 26, 2013 Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to several calls for thefts from vehicles in the Town of Rockwood. Police are reminding vehicle owners that thefts from vehicles are a crime of opportunity. The key to protecting your vehicle is in your hands. Keep yourself from becoming an easy target by simply securing your vehicle – Lock it or Lose it.
Always roll up your vehicle’s windows, lock the doors
Never leave your vehicle unattended while it is running
If you have a garage, use it and lock the door as well as your vehicle
Never leave your car keys in plain view or in an easily accessible area
Always park your vehicle in a well-lit area
Never leave valuable objects or packages in full view. Put them in the trunk
If you see suspicious persons or activity near your vehicle or on your property, call the Wellington County OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
