(CHAPLEAU, ON) – On December 15, 2013 just after midnight the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Superior East Chapleau Detachment were advised by a member of the public of an intoxicated female walking on Highway 101 at the North Junction.
A 2004 Hyundai Tiburon was located in the ditch and one set of footprints leading from the scene. The female driver was located and based on a number of investigative observations made by the OPP officers the driver was arrested. The driver was taken to the Chapleau OPP Detachment for the purpose of completing Intoxylizer tests.
As a result of the investigative steps taken by the OPP, Laurie MCWATCH, 35, of Sultan, Ontario has been charged with;
– Impaired Driving
– Drive Motor Vehicle with Blood Alcohol over 80 mgs.
– Drive while Disqualified
– Drive while under Suspension – 2 counts
The accused was released on a promise to appear with a Chapleau Court date of February 19, 2014.
