(GUELPH-ERAMOSA TOWNSHIP, ON) – On June 3, 2016 at approximately 6:20 p.m., the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Traffic Management Unit (TMU) spoke with a male driver of a 2008 Dodge that entered a R.I.D.E. Program on Conservation Road, Guelph-Eramosa Township.
While speaking with the driver, police believed alcohol was consumed. A Roadside Screening Device test was conducted which resulted in a fail. Police also observed items associated with marihuana use in the car. During a search eight pots with suspected marihuana plants were located.
He was taken to a local OPP Operations Centre for further testing.
His driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days and the vehicle impounded for a period of seven days as per statute.
42-year-old Larry BLACKLOCK of Guelph has been charged with Over 80 Mgs contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada and Possession of Marihuana over 30 grams contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. He is to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on July 5, 2016.
