(HOWICK, ON) – A 24 year old male is facing a charge of Care and Control of a Motor Vehicle with Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol after he was arrested early Saturday, February 15, 2014. Just after midnight two passing motorists notified Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) of a Pontiac Torrent that was stuck in a snow covered ditch on Amberley Road near Johnson Line. Officers responded to the scene and were able to locate the driver of the Torrent walking around his vehicle. Upon speaking with the driver it was noted he had been consuming alcohol.
The driver was administered a roadside screening device test at the scene, which he failed. He was immediately arrested and transported to the Listowel OPP detachment for intoxilizer tests. He provided two samples of his breath to a qualified intoxilizer technician; both tests were over the legal limit.
Kyle LASSALINE, 24, from Wingham has been charged with Care and Control of a Motor Vehicle – Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol. He now has a court appearance scheduled for the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on March 10, 2014. He received an automatic 90 day driver’s licence suspension and his motor vehicle has been impounded for seven days.
