Killaloe OPP Weekly Release

During the week of June 21 – June 29, 2015 there were 128 calls for service. There were ten motor vehicle collisions; three were related to wild animals.

There was one domestic dispute call for service during the week of June 21- June 29, 2015. No charges were laid.

ASSAULT WITH A WEAPON

(Algonquin Provincial Park, ON) On Friday, June 26, 2015 Provincial Constable Ryan Szczygiel responded to a complaint of an assault with a weapon in Algonquin Provincial Park at a campsite located at Western Uplands Hiking Trail. The investigation led to Aaron WEATHERSTON, 24 years of age of Hamilton being charged with

– Assault with a weapon contrary to section 267(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada (2 counts)

WEATHERSTON is scheduled to appear in Killaloe Court on July 15, 2015.

ATTEMPT BREAK AND ENTER

(South Algonquin Township, ON) On June 24, 2015 Provincial Constable Keith Jones was advised of an attempt break and enter to the Catholic Church garage on Highway 60, Madawaska. Sometime between June 22, 2015 and June 24, 2015 unknown person(s) damaged windows at the garage attempting to gain access. If anyone has information contact the Killaloe OPP or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

MISCHIEF

(Brudenell, Lyndoch and Raglan Township, ON) Provincial Constable Keith Jones is investigating the mischief done to a front end loader. Sometime in the last two weeks unknown person(s) caused damage to the machine. The front end loader had been parked at a sand/gravel pit on Carson Lake. If anyone has information contact the Killaloe OPP or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

THEFT

(Bonnechere Valley Township, ON) Killaloe OPP are investigating the theft of a door to an outdoor woodstove. Sometime between June 7, 2015 and June 28, 2015 unknown person(s) removed the door of the woodstove. If anyone has information contact the Killaloe OPP or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

SAFETY TIP

Killaloe OPP are investigating a complaint of a citizen receiving a phone call advising there was a warrant for their arrest as a result of tax evasion. They further stated a number to contact in order to avoid being arrested. The next possible step would be to wire money to have the outstanding balance taken care of resulting in the citizen being scammed out of their personal funds.
