During the week of July 30, 2018, to August 6, 2018 there were 176 calls for service, including the Whitney Detachment.
There were eighteen motor vehicle collisions, seven were animal related.
There was one domestic dispute call for service, and no domestic disputes resulting in criminal code charges.
Prohibited Driving, Dangerous Driving Charges
On Saturday August 4, 2018 at approximately 9:17 am, Killaloe OPP Sgt Mark MacKisoc and Constable Glenn Yaraskavitch responded to a single vehicle collision involving a pickup truck on Highway 60, South Algonquin Twp. As a result of police investigation, 65 yr. old Glenn CORBETT of Brampton was arrested and charged with Prohibited Driving, and Dangerous Driving contrary to the Criminal Code. The accused was released on an Appearance Notice with a court date of Wednesday September 19, 2018 at 9:30 am, Ontario Court of Justice, Killaloe. The accused sustained minor injuries and was transported to hospital by ambulance. The vehicle was towed and impounded for 45 days.
Breach of Recognizance Conditions, Assault Police Charges
On Wednesday August 1, 2018 at approximately 10:31 pm, Killaloe OPP Constable Julie McPeak and Constable Jason MacDougall conducted a traffic stop involving a passenger car on Bonnechere St East, Bonnechere Valley Twp. after receiving a call from a concerned citizen that the occupants were drinking alcohol. As a result of police investigation, a 28 yr. old male from Bonnechere Valley Twp. was issued a three day alcohol driving licence suspension. The female passenger, 31 yr. old Angela HIGGINSON of Bonnechere Valley Twp. was arrested and charged with Breach of Bail Conditions and Assault Police contrary to the Criminal Code. The accused was held pending a bail court hearing, Ontario Court of Justice, Pembroke.
Suspended Driver Charged
On Friday, August 3, 2018 at approximately 9:35 am, Killaloe OPP Constable Glenn Yaraskavitch conducted a traffic stop involving a pickup truck on Dunn Street, Madawaska Valley Twp. As a result of police investigation, 32 yr. old John STONE of Hastings Highlands was charged with Suspended Driving, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. The defendant was issued a summons to appear in court.
Collision
On Monday August 6, 2018 at approximately 11:46 am, Killaloe OPP responded to a two vehicle collision involving two passenger cars on Opeongo Line, Madawaska Valley Twp. As a result of of police investigation, a 68 yr. old female from Madawaska Valley Twp. was charged with Start From Stopped Position Not in Safety, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. The defendant was issued a Provincial Offence Act notice. There were no reported injuries.
Break and Enter
On Monday July 30, 2018 at approximately 10:47 am, Killaloe OPP Constable Jason MacDougall responded to a break and enter to a shed on Chapel Road, Madawaska Valley Twp. An eight foot fiberglass boat was reported stolen. The boat is described as having the words After Twelve” written on its side. This incident remains under investigation.
