Killaloe OPP Weekly Release

During the week of the 12 December 2016, to the 18 December 2016, there were 86 calls for service, including the Whitney Detachment.

There were twelve motor vehicle collisions, five were animal related.

There were six domestic dispute calls for service during the week of the 12 December 2016, to the 18 December 2016. There was one domestic related incident involving criminal code charges.

Domestic Dispute, Impaired Charge

On the 17 December 2016 at approximately 11:34 p.m., Killaloe OPP Constable Chris Teasdale and Constable Glenn Yaraskavitch received a domestic dispute call for service on Highway #127, South Algonquin Twp. As officers arrived on scene, one male was observed leaving in a motor vehicle. Subsequent to officer investigation, a 30 yr. old male from Orillia was charged with Over 80 mg, section 253(1) (b) of the Criminal Code of Canada. The male was released on a Promise to Appear with a court date, Ontario Court of Justice, Killaloe. The name of the accused has been withheld to protect the identity of the victim.

Breach of Undertaking Conditions

On the 17 December 2016 at approximately 11:32 p.m., Killaloe OPP Constable Devin Leeworthy and Constable Ryan Szczygiel were conducting an R.I.D.E. program on O’Connor Road, Bonnechere Valley Twp. The driver of a Blue Ford was issued a three day licence suspension, and found to be in contravention of Undertaking Conditions not to consume alcohol. Subsequent to police investigation, 62 yr. old Neil OGRADY of Renfrew has been charged with Breach of Undertaking Conditions, section 145(5) of the Criminal Code of Canada. The accused was released on a Promise to appear with a court date, Ontario Court of Justice, Killaloe. The vehicle was towed.

OPP Festive Ride

Since the commencement of the 2016 Festive RIDE Campaign, the Killaloe OPP have conducted 60 RIDE spot checks throughout the detachment area, have laid one impaired driving charge and issued one three day licence suspension. The OPP urges everyone to act responsibly and chose not to drive while impaired by drug or alcohol.
