Impaired Driver Ditches Vehicle

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County detachment investigated a motor vehicle collision at a Cockshutt Road Townsend, Norfolk County, Ontario address.

On Friday, December 16, 2016 at approximately 10:53 p.m., officers responded to a single motor vehicle collision.

Through the course of investigation, it has determined that a vehicle was travelling on Cockshutt Road when the driver lost control and entered the ditch.

No injuries were sustained by the driver.

As a result of investigation, police have charged 24-year-old Allister WISE of Norfolk County, Ontario with care or control while impaired and care and control over 80mgs.

He is to appear in Provincial Court, Simcoe at a later date to answer to the charges.

“There will be zero tolerance for motorists driving aggressively, impaired by drugs or alcohol, distracted drivers or those who fail to buckle up. Driving safety is everyone’s responsibility and it starts before the vehicle is put into drive” comments Constable Ed Sanchuk, Norfolk County OPP.
