During the week of June 18, 2018, to June 24, 2018 there were 116 calls for service, including the Whitney Detachment.
There were twenty motor vehicle collisions, six were animal related.
There were five domestic dispute calls for service, and no domestic disputes resulting in criminal code charges.
Assault Charges
On Saturday June 23, 2018 at approximately 7:25 pm, members of the Killaloe OPP detachment responded to an assault call on Bridge Street, Bonnechere Valley Twp. As a result of police investigation, 24 yr. old Brandon LAMOUREUX of Bonnechere Valley Twp. was arrested and charged with Assault with a Weapon, Breach of Undertaking Conditions and Breach of Probation Order, contrary to the Criminal Code. The accused was held pending a bail court hearing, Ontario Court of Justice, Pembroke. A second 16 yr. old female young person who cannot be identified under provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act was arrested and charged with Assault with a Weapon, contrary to the Criminal Code. The female accused was released on a Promise to Appear with a court date of Thursday July 12, 2018 at 9:30 am, Youth Justice Court, Pembroke. Constable Jeff Cole is leading this investigation.
Collisions
On Monday June 18, 2018 at approximately 12:20 pm, Killaloe OPP Constable Ian Morin responded to a two vehicle collision on Queen Street, Killaloe, Hagarty and Richards Twp. The 77 yr. old male driver of passenger vehicle from Killaloe, Hagarty and Richards Twp. was charged with Fail to Yield, and Use Plates Not Authorized, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. The female passenger from Emsdale in the second vehicle sustained minor injuries and was treated by Renfrew County Ambulance. Both vehicles were towed. The defendant was issued Provincial Offence Act notices.
On Wednesday June 20, 2018 at approximately 2:14 pm, Whitney OPP Constable Dan Olejarski responded to a single vehicle collision involving a motor cycle on Combermere Road, Madawaska Valley Twp. The 72 yr. old male driver from Clarington was transported to hospital by ambulance with minor injuries. No charges laid. The motorcycle was towed.
On Thursday June 21, 2018 at approximately 11:25 pm, Whitney OPP Constable Mike Holbrook, responded to a single vehicle collision involving a passenger car and moose on Highway 60, Algonquin Provincial Park. There were no reported injuries. The vehicle was towed with extensive damages.
On Friday June 22, 2018 at approximately 8:17 pm, Killaloe OPP Constable Chris Miller and Sgt. Yvan Pelletier responded to a two vehicle collision involving a passenger car and pick- up truck on Highway 60, North Algona Wilberforce Twp. A 51 yr. old female from Bonnechere Valley Twp. was charged with Follow Too Closely contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. The defendant was issued a Provincial Offence Act notice. There were no reported injuries. The passenger car was towed.
On Sunday June 24, 2018 at approximately 4:17 pm, Killaloe OPP Constable Jason MacDougall responded to a four vehicle collision on Highway 60, North Algona Wilberforce Twp. involving three sport utility vehicles and a passenger car. One of the tires from the passenger car came off of the vehicle striking the remaining three vehicles. There were no reported injuries. Three of the involved vehicles were towed. This incident remains under investigation
On Sunday June 24, 2018 at approximately 6:05 pm, members of the Killaloe OPP detachment responded to a single vehicle collision on Highway 28, Brudenell, Lyndoch and Raglan Twp. A passenger car lost control and veered into the ditch. The 24 yr. old male driver from Ottawa was airlifted to hospital by ORNGE Air with non-life threatening injuries. The male passenger was transported to hospital by ambulance with minor injuries. The vehicle was towed. Charges are pending. PC John Thurston is leading this investigation.
