RELEASE FOR THE WEEK OF August 14, 2017 to August 20, 2017

During the week of August 14, 2017, to August 20, 2017 there were 114 calls for service, including the Whitney Detachment.

There were seven motor vehicle collisions, four were animal related.

There were four domestic dispute calls for service, and no domestic disputes resulting in criminal code charges.

Breach of Recognizance, Mischief Charges

On Sunday, August 20, 2017 at approximately 7:52 pm, Killaloe OPP Constable John Thurston and Constable Chris Miller responded to an unwanted person call, on First Avenue, South Algonquin Twp. As a result of police investigation, 34 yr. old Joseph DYSON, of Kitchener has been charged with Breach of Recognizance and Mischief, contrary to the Criminal Code. The accused was held and will appear at bail court, on Monday August 21, 2017, at 9:30 am, at the Ontario Court of Justice, Pembroke.

Breach of Probation, Suspended Drive

On Tuesday August 15, 2017 at approximately 3:21 pm, Killaloe OPP Constable Ryan Lapierre conducted a traffic stop, on Highway 60, Madawaska Valley Twp. As a result of police investigation, 40 yr. old Peter MENESS of Killaloe, Hagarty and Richards Twp. has been charged with Breach of Probation Order x 2, and Drive Under Suspension, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. The defendant was held for bail court. The vehicle was towed.

Stunt Driving Charge

On Monday August 14, 2017 at approximately 2:05 am, Killaloe OPP Constable Jon Anderson and Constable Kyle Fabian were operating moving radar on Highway 41, Bonnechere Valley Twp. A motor vehicle was observed travelling at a high rate of speed, and locked in at 215 km per hour in a posted 80 km hr. zone. As a result of police investigation a 19 yr. old male from Petawawa was charged with Drive Motor Vehicle, Perform a Stunt contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. The defendant was used a summons to appear in court. The licence was suspended for seven days, and the vehicle towed and impounded for seven days.

On Friday August 18, 2017 at approximately 2:26 pm, Killaloe OPP Constable Jon Anderson was operating moving radar on Highway 41, Bonnechere Valley Twp. A motor vehicle was observed travelling at a high rate of speed, and locked in at 166 km per hour in a posted 80 km hr. zone. As a result of police investigation, a 19 yr. old from Bonnechere Valley Twp. has been charged with Drive Motor Vehicle Perform a Stunt, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. The defendant was issued a summons to appear in court. The licence was suspended for seven days, and the vehicle towed and impounded for seven days.
