Kid Playing With Knife Gets Cut And Calls Police Blaming Masked Men

(PETROLIA, ON) On December 10, 2014, just after 8:30 p.m. Lambton Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to a call about a teenager being injured with a knife during a confrontation with two masked individuals. Three teens involved were reporting that the incident happened behind a local business when one of the teens was injured.

OPP West Region Canine and OPP West Region Emergency Response Team (ERT) officers assisted Lambton OPP officers however, as the investigation progressed, it was discovered that the call was not as it had originally appeared to be. The involved Petrolia teens, two who are 15 years of age and one who is 16 years of age, finally admitted that a bit of horseplay with a knife caused the non-life threatening injury that required some medical treatment.

Lambton OPP officers will follow-up the occurrence in the coming days but the teens have definitely learned a lesson about that type of horseplay and the issues arising from causing police to enter into a fictional investigation.
