Kenora OPP Press Releases

(KENORA, ON) Members of the Kenora Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged a 24 year old man for impaired driving following a report of a possible intoxicated driver on Highway 641, north of Kenora. Around 1:30 pm on Friday September 11, 2015 the OPP were on patrol of Highway 641 and located the suspect vehicle. Police determined the driver had been consuming alcohol and transported him for further tests.

As a result of this investigation, 24 year old Evander FOBISTOR of Grassy Narrows First Nations, has been charged with Impaired Driving and Operating a Motor Vehicle With More than .80 mg of Alcohol in 100 ml of Blood, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. He is to appear in Kenora Court on October 22, 2015 to answer to the criminal charges. He was also charged with Driving Under Suspension contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. He is to appear in Provincial Court in Kenora on October 29, 2015 to answer to the provincial charge.

ROBBERY CHARGES

(KENORA, ON) On September 13, 2014 around 7:20 am, the Kenora OPP responded to a report of an unconscious man in the downtown area of Kenora. Upon locating the male, who was conscious, police determined the male had been assaulted and an amount of Canadian Currency stolen from him. The police investigation led to the arrest of two suspects on September 13, 2015 and one suspect on September 14, 2015.

As a result of this investigation, the following suspects have been charged with Robbery With Violence, contrary to section 344(1)(b) of the Criminal Code;

Ethan COPENACE-25 yrs old of Kenora

Christopher JACK-33 yrs old of Kenora

Shannon MACHIMITY (female) 28 yrs old of Kenora

They have all been held in custody pending bail hearings in Kenora Court on September 16, 2015.

The 22 year old victim sustained minor injuries in the assault.
