Kenneth Kristopher MCCOOL Arrested After Foot Pursuit

(MUNICIPALITY OF MEAFORD, ON) – Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), with the assistance of the Collingwood and the Town of Blue Mountains Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), have arrested a male in connection to the recent vehicle thefts from the Municipality of Grey Highlands (Markdale) and Township of Georgian Bluffs (Springmount).

On Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at approximately 11:26 p.m., the suspect was observed operating a stolen 2004 GMC Savannah van on the 3rd Line at Hwy. 26 in the Municipality of Meaford. After a brief pursuit, the suspect exited the vehicle and fled on foot. He was arrested in the area of Alice St. E. and Bruce St., Thornbury, in the Town of the Blue Mountains without incident.

25-year-old Kenneth Kristopher MCCOOL, of the Municipality of West Grey, who was charged with the following criminal offences, remains in custody after a bail hearing. His next court appearance is scheduled for Thursday, July 16, 2015 in Owen Sound.

– Theft Under $5,000 (2 counts)

– Flight While Pursued by Peace Officer

– Dangerous Operation of Motor Vehicle

– Possession of Stolen Property Over $5,000

– Possession of Stolen Property Under $5,000 (2 counts)

– Theft of Motor Vehicle (2 counts)

– Mischief Under $5,000

– Fail to Comply with Probation Order
