(SOUTH PORCUPINE, ON) – An officer with the Highway Safety Division of the South Porcupine Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a 30 year old South Porcupine, Ontario man as a result of a traffic stop on Frederick House Lake Road, Timmins, on October 31, 2014.
Police had set up a RIDE program at that location and observed a motor vehicle turn around before reaching the checkpoint and drive away at a high rate of speed. Police followed the vehicle and were able to pull it over. As a result of the traffic stop and police investigation, the driver, Kass CORNER, was charged with Race a Motor Vehicle section 172. (1) and Driving While Under Suspension section 53 (1) as per the Highway Traffic Act. In addition his vehicle was impounded for seven days.
He is scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice in Timmins on December 11, 2014.
