(WELLINGTON NORTH TOWNSHIP, ON) – On November 8, 2015 at approximately 1:40 p.m., members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped a 2012 Volkswagon on Highway 6 near Side Road 7 in Wellington North Township for a Highway Traffic Act violation.
Upon speaking with the female driver police determined that she had been drinking. An Approved Roadside Screening Device (ASD) test was conducted which resulted in a fail.
The driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days and the vehicle impounded for a period of seven days as per statute.
59-year-old Karen PETRACHENKO of Toronto has been charged with Over 80 mgs contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada Speeding contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. She is to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on December 11, 2015 to answer to the charges.
